**Job Description:**

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our Operations Division at Auckland Council. As a Sexton, you will be responsible for assisting with burials, maintaining the cemetery grounds, adornment management, and other general grounds maintenance priorities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist families with parking and ensure they feel comfortable and well attended to
  • Advising on any health and safety requirements
  • Maintaining the cemetery grounds, including grave digging, landscaping, and cleaning
  • Managing adornments, such as flowers and plaques
  • Collaborating with the team to achieve goals and objectives

**Requirements:**

  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Experience with LUV, excavator, or tractor would be highly advantageous
