**Role Overview**

We are seeking a skilled Government Liaison Specialist to support the Minister in developing and promoting key strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism or communications, as well as experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires the ability to plan and prepare for events, create narratives, and provide informed advice on complex issues. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this position. A relevant tertiary qualification and/or previous experience working in a ministerial office or government department are highly desirable.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Minister with the development and promotion of key strategies, as well as contributing to the wider team's efforts to ensure clear, informative, and timely communications. If you are comfortable working in an environment where no two days are the same, and you have the ability to adapt to new situations, learning information as you go, this role may be just the next career move you are looking for.

The successful candidate will have a highly attuned awareness of the current media and political landscape, and will be confident in writing speeches and press releases. The Minister values and requires a high level of trust and self-management, allowing you to work independently while contributing to team results.
