Parliamentary Liaison Specialist

Role Overview:
The Ministry of Health New Zealand is seeking a highly skilled Parliamentary Liaison Specialist to join our team in Wellington. As a key member of the Parliamentary Advice and Coordination Team, you will play a critical role in supporting our Ministers and the Ministry with meeting accountability, scrutiny, and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Government Services Team to continuously improve its services and drive performance
- Managing Official Information Act requests, ministerial correspondence, Select Committee work, and parliamentary questions
- Assisting managers and providing support to the Ministry's Private Secretaries
- Working across the Government Services teams and facing out to the Ministry and stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of the machinery of government
- Experience working to a Senior level with ministerial offices and senior leaders
- Political nous and strong engagement skills
- The ability to comfortably work at pace and meet deadlines
- An eye for detail
