Xero is a leader in cloud-based accounting software, and we are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Architect Lead to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the security and integrity of our platform, protecting our customers' sensitive data and maintaining their trust.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced security professional to lead our cloud security efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust security solutions. As a Cloud Security Architect Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive cloud security strategies to protect Xero's infrastructure, applications, and data.
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure secure coding practices and adherence to security standards.
  • Liaising with vendors and suppliers to negotiate secure contracts and terms.
  • Leading incident response efforts and providing expert guidance on security-related issues.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members to enhance their security knowledge and skills.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience in cloud security, preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Expertise in security frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management, and encryption techniques.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
