JOB DESCRIPTIONTitle: Regional Sales EngineerReports To: Sales & Business Development ManagerSummary of Job Description:The primary function of the role is to achieve budgeted sales & margins of products of the Company, grow market share, grow the customer base of users, buyers & specifiers, seek out new opportunities for the business, and to articulate and live the company values & high service level aspirations.
To maintain project pipelines, report on market activities, project pricing and competitor activities and initiatives.
Flexible on out-of-town travel to suit market requirements, typically 1 to 2 weeks per month.Key Competencies:Relationship management, good interpersonal skills, good negotiator & closure skills, strategic thinker, articulate with commercial acumen, results and outcome oriented.
Self-motivated with good time management behaviours.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Achieve consistent growth in sales and gross profit.Grow market share and the customer base for users, buyers & specifiers, by working closely with the Application Engineer & designers.Know the Company products and key attributes and benefits.Support local region resellers with relevant product training and opportunity identification.Develop precasters & batching plants relationships for BarChip & provide feedback on opportunities to leverage growth through initiatives such as consignment stock and design support.Maintain awareness and project pipeline records of your regional projects with timely intervention for design and specifying, quoting, follow-up and closure across all markets.Maintain a steady record of case studies across the product portfolio.Maintain projects register, competitor pricing register and competitor information, and regularly update client lists in the agreed format on the Company database.Summarise key fortnightly sales activities, initiatives and achievements as part of simplistic regular reporting.Develop and maintain a rolling bi-monthly shared plan of key tasks and travels.Be active within relevant local industry groups and attend branch meetings to nurture relationships and Company profile.Attend job sites as required to further opportunities and undertake relevant customer training and support.Project forecasting, stock planning and reordering requirements with the Managing Director.Be proactive in conforming to site and vehicle safety requirements, site induction protocols, all Company policies, including Occupational Health and Safety, Trade Practices, zero tolerance on drug and alcohol use as per lawful obligations and any Quality protocols.Contribute to and be proactive in helping create and sustain a healthy, vibrant, open, honest, and positive culture for all people within the business and to live these values in our day to day internal and external activities and communications.Other duties as reasonably requested from time to time.
