Are you looking for a change or for a role that provides a mix of being out and about as well as in the office, where no two days are the same? We are experiencing growth of the technical portfolio within our business and are looking for a results-driven, technically astute Sales Engineer to actively seek out and engage customer prospects and to provide support to our existing client base that stretches the length of the South Island.

About You:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual ready to use their Engineering or Trades qualifications to further their career and support our growth aspirations. The key focus of this role will be to achieve strong results and deliver on the Company's growth strategy. This role will be based in Christchurch, with travel required to relevant customer locations around the South Island.

About the Role:

As a Technical Sales Engineer you will:

  • Embody and support a growth mindset, drive sales and align with the company's systems and ISO9001 structure to achieve sustainable results
  • Promote and sell products and services by uncovering the unrealised needs of your customers
  • Understand our product range to ensure you offer solutions aligned to our customer's needs
  • Understand your customer database and ensure this is well managed on our CRM platform
  • Work towards achieving sales & territory objectives
  • Deliver outstanding service and build rapport and strong relationships with industrial based customers
  • Gain understanding of customers' processes and compliance requirements and match these with company products and solutions
  • Display excellent commercial and negotiation skills
  • Develop and implement business strategies which will maintain our leading position in the markets we serve
  • Present at customer training and industry events

Role Requirements:

You will have the following:

  • Qualification(s) in Bachelors of Engineering or Science background. Trade related background is well regarded
  • Proven track record in Engineering and/or Sales
  • Be self-motivated, committed, enthusiastic and have the tenacity and the attitude to succeed as a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills along with computer literacy with MS Office programs
  • Willingness to learn how to identify and offer solutions based upon your customers' unrealised needs
  • Desire to sell into the Industrial/Manufacturing/Construction markets
  • The ability to develop targets and goals and then deliver them, demonstrated by your past successes.
  • Good organisational and time management skills to take on the challenges of territory management
  • A positive attitude towards continued learning and development
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Able to travel away from home 5-8 days a month
  • NZ citizenship and/or permanent residency
