Volunteering Auckland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Fundraiser / Grant Writer to provide consultancy fundraising and grant writing services.
As we look to grow and sustain our impact, we require immediate support to identify and secure funding opportunities through grants, as well as developing and executing fundraising strategies that align with our mission of leading, supporting and promoting volunteering within the greater Auckland region.About Volunteering AucklandVolunteering Auckland plays a pivotal role in connecting community members with meaningful volunteer opportunities in the Tamaki Makaurau region, building an inclusive and sustainable community, and supporting volunteer-involving organisations in effectively recruiting and retaining volunteers.
By investing in volunteer engagement, we foster a society where everyone, regardless of background, has equal access to participate, contribute, and thrive in Tamaki Makaurau's community life, through volunteering.ObjectivesAssist with developing a fundraising strategyResearch and identify potential grant opportunitiesWrite and submit competitive grant proposalsProvide ongoing support for successful funding acquisitionWe seek someone who can help us develop a sustainable, long-term 3-year funding model while helping us reach our immediate financial targets.Scope of WorkPlease note: This is a contract role on an 'as needed basis', with no set weekly hours.
Work hours will vary based on an agreed-upon grant application calendar.The selected fundraiser/grant writer will be responsible for the following tasks:Strategic Fundraising Consultation in consultation with the General ManagerConduct a needs assessment for our fundraising effortsDevelop a strategic fundraising plan (short-term and long-term)Research and identify relevant grant opportunities (local, government, private)Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant proposalsEnsure compliance with grant guidelines and deadlinesPrepare necessary documents, budgets, and supporting materials for grant applicationsAdvise on best practices and adjustments to improve fundraising effectivenessSubmission RequirementsA brief introduction and an overview on your interest in this opportunity.A summary of your experience in strategic fundraising and grant writing.
Include specific examples of previous work.A detailed breakdown of relevant fees and/or estimated costs involved in delivering the services outlined in this scope of work.References: Contact information for at least two (2) references from clients who have used your services in the past, especially in grant writing or fundraising.Evaluation CriteriaProposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:Relevant experience in strategic fundraising and grant writingKnowledge of and experience with the types of grants we seekProposed approach and understanding of our needsCost-effectiveness and value of servicesReferences and past success in similar projectsSubmission GuidelinesProposals must be submitted by 7th March 2025 to Cheryll Martin QSO, General Manager, Volunteering Auckland.
