Our mission at Mercy Hospice is to provide specialist palliative care to patients, families and whānau within the Auckland catchment area. As a Palliative Care Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a critical role in securing funding to support our services.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Fundraising team as a Grant Management Specialist Trusts and Foundations. This position is responsible for researching and identifying potential trusts and foundations that align with Mercy Hospice's mission and strategic goals.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a similar role, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with grant management software or CRM systems. They will be excellent communicators, able to craft formal reports and presentations, and build strong relationships with trust and foundation representatives.

In this role, you will work closely with staff from other departments to gather information to support the preparation of grant proposals. You will also be responsible for planning and maintaining the annual grants calendar, tracking grant spend, writing resolution summaries and board reports, and ensuring compliance with grant terms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and prospecting: Identifying and researching potential trusts and foundations that align with Mercy Hospice's mission and strategic goals.
  • Proposal writing and submission: Preparing grant proposals that are customised to match the priorities and guidelines of each funder.
  • Donor stewardship and relationship management: Cultivating and maintaining relationships with trust and foundation representatives and providing regular updates.
  • Grant management and compliance: Monitoring and managing administration of grants, including tracking funds, ensuring compliance with grant terms, and preparing timely accountability reports to funders.
