Work in a collaborative and fast paced environmentBe part of a project with significant impact on the correctional systemFixed-Term based in Wellington until July 2026.Nga kawenga | About the role We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to work on the Christchurch Men's Prison Redevelopment on a fixed-term basis until June 2027.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will take a central role in supporting the PPP procurement for the first phase of the Christchurch Men's Prison Redevelopment Programme.
You will lead the PPP workstream, ensuring the development and monitoring of workstream plans, managing the programme schedule, and identifying any risks or issues that could impact successful delivery.
Your role will involve proactive risk management, providing regular updates to the Programme Director, and preparing reports and briefings for governance and team meetings.
You'll work closely with the Programme Management Office, contributing to the development of key documentation and helping to cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
We are currently in the procurement phase; you will manage the procurement process, from supporting the development of the procurement plan to overseeing the clarification process and tender logistics.
Additionally, during the negotiation phase, you'll help prepare and support all necessary materials and logistics for effective negotiations.
To be successful in this role you will bring: Experience in infrastructure/construction (public sector) procurement.Experience in leading teams and working within a major programme of work.Sound knowledge of best practice project management and processes for managing complex programmes of work.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad cross-section of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability in issues management working to tight timeframes and under pressure with a strong service delivery and outcome focus.The midpoint of the salary range is $147,765 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $125,601 - $177,318 per annum.
Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
