The business operates throughout New Zealand and Australia and provides products and services to arable growers, livestock producers and to food and feed manufacturers.
PGG Wrightson Seeds is seeking a Plant Operator with a passion for agricultural work.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective drying of harvested grain and be actively involved in the manufacturing of added value grain products.
Responsibilities: Receive, deliver and dry grain according to specifications, complete documentation (weighbridge dockets etc.
), take samples, perform tests, and maintain inventory computer records as required.Operate and maintain grain drying equipment to ensure optimal performance.Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, and drying times to prevent over-drying or spoilage.Inspect equipment regularly to identify and troubleshoot any mechanical or operational issues.Work closely with the harvest team to ensure timely drying and storage of grain.Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Keep accurate records of drying processes, grain quality, and equipment maintenance.Ensure bagging and manufacturing of added value grain products is performed to specifications.While prior experience in plant operations or a similar role is advantageous, it is not essential.
