Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claims settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3.The ward clerk is the 'communication hub' of the unit and undertakes the following tasks as well as jobs delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Nurse in charge:Meet and greet patients and whanau and show them around the ward and to the bedsideConfidentiality – check with patients and whanau on how they would like their name displayed or notManagement of phone calls into the ward/unitContact person for the ward/unit and communicate between departments and the MDTAdministration work such as supply ordering, equipment ordering, maintenance requisitions, cleaning orders, and entering data such as the ward rosterAbout the Team/Service/LocationWard B3/SARA is a very busy acute General Surgical ward and Surgical Assessment Review Area based in the Waipapa building at Christchurch Hospital.
Ward B3/SARA has ward clerk support 7 days a week, 07:00 to 23:30, to provide support to the nursing team and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
This role is pivotal on the ward and requires a "can do" attitude.
