About the role Ward B5 is a 32-bed combined gastroenterology and oncology ward.
We are looking for a passionate Ward Clerk to join our gastroenterology and oncology team on a part-time basis.
This role will be based at Christchurch Hospital.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate that has a strong administration background coupled with great customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claims settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3.
Key Responsibilities: Confidentiality – check with patients and whanau on how they would like their name displayed or not. Management of phone calls into ward/unit. Contact person for the ward/unit and communicate between departments. Supply and equipment ordering. Manage the rostering system. Process patient information and records. About you Experience using a Patient Management System (desirable). Intermediate Microsoft Suite Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel). Very high levels of confidentiality. Communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work unsupervised and have high levels of initiative. A willingness to help those around you. Organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Able to pick up and use new systems and technology.
