The client is dedicated to helping their customers achieve their financial goals by offering a range of innovative products and services.As the AVP, Corporate Accounting, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Accounting team, overseeing the general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
You will ensure that all financial statements and disclosures are accurate, complete, and in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the Corporate Accounting team, providing guidance and direction on accounting issues and complex transactionsOversee the general ledger and month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasksReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsPrepare and review financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirementsCollaborate with other departments, including Actuarial, Investments, and Tax, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial informationDevelop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls and compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirementsProvide guidance and support to the Vice President of Corporate Accounting on key accounting issues and initiativesKeep up-to-date with accounting standards, regulations, and industry developments, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all applicable requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification7+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirementsExperience managing a team of accounting professionalsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environmentWillingness to work at a granular level, including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliationsThis is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
The AVP, Corporate Accounting will have the opportunity to work remotely and will be eligible for promotion to Vice President.
