Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Chorus Full time

Nau mai, haere mai.
We're Chorus.
You may have already heard about us and know we're the team empowering Aotearoa's digital future with our ultra-fast fibre.
We're a talented bunch who are passionate about our purpose; Unleashing potential through connectivity.
Enabling better futures for Aotearoa.
Te Wahi |Where: Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch Te Putake | Why we're hiring: This newly created role reports into the Executive GM of Network Operations.
Chorus is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Operations Leader to oversee the delivery of our world-class fibre network, including connections, maintenance, and planned build work.
In this role, you will lead both internal teams and service partners to ensure exceptional customer experience and network reliability.
Your team will be responsible for managing day-to-day performance and ensuring that KPIs and Service Level Agreements are met while also contributing to the strategic direction of field operations.
You will be responsible for managing and optimising field resources, ensuring the seamless delivery of fibre connections and network capacity growth.
A key part of your role will involve merging reactive and planned build work into a cohesive operational team, and associated processes with a continuous focus on performance improvement.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring effective financial and operational control of inventory management.
Your team will be responsible for overseeing Chorus' physical materials supply chain, ensuring materials are available at the right place and time, with a strong emphasis on cost efficiency and waste reduction.
Additionally, you will oversee the implementation of frameworks and reporting systems to drive accurate forecasting and financial control, while continuously enhancing inventory control maturity.
Collaboration will be central to your role as you work closely with teams across the business on strategic network programmes; you will oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of infrastructure projects that meet customer needs and asset management goals.
These projects aim to improve network capacity, service coverage, and reliability, ensuring we meet business targets and provide exceptional service to customers.
We are seeking someone to become the guardian of our network, our people and our field force to enhance, protect and sustain our business.
In order to succeed in this role, you'll need to be a highly experienced leader with extensive knowledge in infrastructure capital works programmes and financial controls, ideally within the telecommunications or utilities sector.
The successful candidate will have over 10 years of experience in mid-level or senior leadership roles within capital-intensive industries, with expertise in asset, technology, and contract management.
You will possess a deep understanding of contract conditions, programme and risk management, cost control, and forecasting.
Having experience in managing complex trade-offs and overseeing the operation, provisioning, restoration, maintenance, and build of telecommunication or utility networks would be advantageous.
Strong commercial and contractual experience, along with expertise in inventory management and controls, is essential for this role.
Chorus is in an exciting space right now, with a new strategy in place and a powerful and inspiring purpose.
We are on the path to moving from the great network builder to being the great network operator.
To do that, we embrace our mindsets of 'be bold, ignite growth', 'honour our past, reimagine our future', and connect communities, empower people.
We need people who not only embody these mindsets and the underpinning behaviours but who also inspire others to do the same.
It's all about our culture, our people say it's one of the best around.
We're proud of that.
With our Chorus Care package benefits behind you, you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside a caring, open-minded team in an environment that embraces diversity, encourages innovation, redefines flexibility, and offers an enviable work-life balance.
We know how to do hybrid working well and have been doing it for years.
We encourage you to find ways to work flexibly with 2-3 days in the office.
If it suits your circumstances and delivers great outcomes for Chorus – that's when you know you've found the Sweet Spot
We have a fair, inclusive and equitable culture where our differences are our strengths, we connect on shared values, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Please let us know of any accessibility requirements you would like us to consider in order to support you with your application.
And if you don't meet every single requirement but still think you could be great for the role we would still encourage you to apply.
