The opportunity - Te tūranga

As a Reporter based in either Auckland or Wellington, you will report on nationally significant news and events for our audience and cover news. Deliver original stories and use creative storytelling across all platforms to produce fair, balanced and accurate journalism.

Your accountabilities will include:

  1. Consistently deliver fast, accurate, entertaining and fair journalism.

This is a casual Reporter role.

We are looking for a journalist with a passion for news and strong sports knowledge. Our ideal candidate will have a track record of breaking stories and producing high-quality video news reporting.

They can work to a deadline and perform well under pressure. A team player with a willingness to work towards the smooth operation of the newsrooms. You will need the confidence to make decisions and a high level of troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.

We also want someone who is safety conscious and able to communicate clearly if safety concerns arise. Driven and focused, they will demonstrate high levels of integrity and honesty. We want someone adaptable and proactive with strong interpersonal skills across a broad range of levels, cultures, and skills areas.

A tertiary journalism qualification is preferred as is practical experience in a broadcast news environment.
