When nature thrives, we all thrive. This is a crucial operational role and forms part of a small, close-knit team who maintain historical pa sites, tracks, and amenity areas through a variety of landscapes from forests to picturesque coastal areas.
Your mahi will see you involved across public conservation land in the Tamaki Makaurau / Auckland Mainland District.
The position will be focused on:
Undertaking tasks for the heritage and visitor programmesUndertaking repairs and maintenance of tracks in both front and back country locationsCarrying out planned work to a high standard and on timeContributing to the successful delivery of projectsWorking with and supporting volunteers and community groups, helping them to achieve greater conservation outcomesParticipation in safety briefings and taking responsibility for your safety and the safety of your teammates every dayWorking alongside other DOC staff, contractors, and volunteers and partnering with iwiWe are looking for a confident communicator and talented team player who has a passion for protecting Auckland's heritage and visitor sites.
