Our Faculty operates a dental hospital to provide training to our future oral health professionals and to provide oral health services on behalf of Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora.

The Role/Te Mahi

As the Manager Quality and Systems, within Clinical Services, you will lead the development and implementation of a Total Quality Management System to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. You will oversee a new training position and set up systems to improve dentistry clinical services through efficient business processes, promote quality improvement initiatives, and manage these efforts for long-term cost savings and increased efficiency.

Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic planning of Clinical Services, ensuring alignment between quality improvement activities and the faculty strategic objectives. You will also lead and manage a high-performing team to achieve consistent quality outcomes.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification or recognised qualification(s) relevant to the role such as Quality Management or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in healthcare quality improvement, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of quality frameworks, regulatory standards, and industry practices.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Quality improvement certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) and project management experience is desirable.

This position is full-time (37.5 hours per week), fixed term for a period of 18 months and based in Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is $94,974 to $103,056 per annum.
