Work from home up to two days a week + life insurance + flexible start/finish times + wellbeing/volunteering leave About the role: Our Performance Delivery Team plays a central role in ensuring Selwyn District Council delivers effectively, transparently, and with accountability to our community. As a Portfolio Lead, you'll help lift our project management capability and maturity. This role is all about enabling — creating the right frameworks, processes, and support so our people can deliver successful projects with confidence and consistency. You'll lead the development and embedding of project management tools, training, and coaching, while also supporting governance groups with good practice guidance. By facilitating post-project reviews and tracking maturity improvements, you'll ensure lessons learned are applied and project delivery keeps getting better. This is a role for someone who enjoys building capability, influencing outcomes, and taking people on the journey. Key responsibilities include: Developing and embedding good practice project management frameworks, tools, and processes. Delivering training, coaching, and guidance to project managers and governance groups. Facilitating workshops, including post-project reviews, and embedding lessons learned. Leading maturity assessments to track and improve project management capability across Council. About you: You’ll be a flexible, pragmatic professional who knows that people and relationships are as important as process. You’ll bring: Extensive experience improving project management maturity Recognised project management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP, or similar). Strong knowledge of different project management methodologies and their application. Proven ability to engage, coach, and support others to lift project capability. A collaborative style with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
