- Extend the portfolio approach to support high quality investment planning and decision-making
- New role - make it your own while helping us to support the community

Have you ever wanted to build an investment capability and team from the ground up? We have created a new leadership role and a new function, in our well-established Investment and Portfolio Team, to build an internal portfolio support capability.

You will extend the existing framework and establish a first class approach to portfolio investment and management. Come join our team, help us deliver work and projects that have a tangible impact for the Fire and Emergency and communities we serve.

**Ko wai mātou? - Who we are**

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents and natural disasters, and to support increased community resilience.

Our vision is to build stronger communities and protect what matters most to the people within them. We are proud to be recognised as New Zealand’s most trusted public sector agency. Our values reflect what our people believe is core to who we are and the organisation we aspire to be:
We Do the Right Thing - Kia Tika

We Serve and Support - Manaakitanga

We Are Better Together - Whanaungatanga

We Strive to Improve - Auahatanga.

Our employee benefits include matched KiwiSaver employer contributions of up to six percent, life and income protection insurance for eligible employees, and a wellness policy that allows for generous sick leave provisions so you can look after yourself.

**Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role**

Come join us and help shape the future of the Fire and Emergency investment delivery.

You will be joining our team during an exciting and ambitious period of change, as we establish a suitable project and portfolio capability. You will be supported to make your individual and team goals a reality.

Building and leading a new team of highly capable Principal, Senior and Portfolio Advisors will be your priority as your team will support the delivery of critical projects that deliver valued services to the organisation and community.

You will take the existing portfolio framework and extend and expand it to meet the needs of the team, of the Organisational Strategy and Capability Delivery branch and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You will support the selection, management and reporting on a broad body of work. Through your team, you will provide advice and guidance to senior teams across our organisation on the investments.

You will be for providing structure, leadership, information, advice, and support on investment decisions across the portfolio. This will include management of the portfolio selection process, development of the delivery plan that describes the portfolio and monitoring and reporting on performance against the Delivery plan.

Currently excelling as an experienced strategic leader with extensive portfolio management and strategy/business-planning skills, you understand and can drive the strategic direction and intent of an organisation.

Your influencing skills and emotional intelligence are second to none, as you and your team will be assisting the executive leadership team to define the investment portfolio that delivers best value and optimises the strategic spend across Fire and Emergency.

Leading by example, you will develop yourself and your team, mentor and be mentored, grow your team and be grown as a leader. You will be a teacher and a learner who works and shares your knowledge to enrich your own and your team’s growth.

Our projects are highly visible and ultimately deliver benefits to all New Zealanders. Bring your skills to the Investment and Portfolio team at Fire and Emergency and be part of something important.
