As the Manager Development Programmes, you will play a crucial role in leading major infrastructure development and capital investment programmes supporting land development in all the growth areas across the Auckland Council Group. You will join our dedicated Infrastructure Funding and Development Strategy team within the Infrastructure & Environmental Services Directorate.

The primary responsibility of the Manager Development Programmes, is to ensure the timely, efficient, relevant and cost-effective development and management of major infrastructure development programmes, informing capital investment priorities, collaborating across the Auckland Council Group to enable housing and economic development in all the Auckland Council growth areas. You will establish and lead growth area programme governance, develop integrated implementation strategies, and manage the change throughout the life of the growth area infrastructure investment.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

- Collaboratively identify and monitor infrastructure development programmes required for housing and economic development in all growth areas.
- Support and advise direct reports and stakeholders to achieve agreed milestones, aligning planning and strategies with infrastructure requirements, development, investment priorities and funding and financing solutions.
- Ensure clear definition and communication of dependencies and interdependencies between strategies, policies and solutions informing infrastructure development programmes.
- Provide appropriate reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Funding and Development Strategies, including portfolio management, escalation, and risk identification.
- Oversee Capex and Opex budgets, expenditure reporting, and escalation/decision making.
- Support Head of Infrastructure Funding and Development Strategies with budgets, service charge-out, and client relationships as required.
- Contribute, interpret relationships and implement Local and National Government policies, legislations and strategic documents.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
This role requires experience in similar management roles, with a sound understanding of infrastructure development and diversified programme management programmes.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

- Bachelor's degree or relevant technical tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., planning, engineering, programme management, construction, architecture, urban design, finance).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in relevant large scale and complex infrastructure development programmes.
- Experience in programme management, planning, and development processes, including knowledge of the economics of development, spatial planning, urban design, and consenting.
- Track record of delivering goals within agreed programmes.
- Managing teams effectively and developing team members and peers.
- Experience with Local and National Government agencies.
- Experience in public consultation and iwi consultation.
