**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
We are looking for a talented Programme Manager to join our team to support the Just Transition Partnerships team in the Economic Development and Transitions branch. You will make a key contribution to the team’s work on measures to drive the uptake of renewable energy in just transition regions, through leading the establishment of programme disciplines. The Programme Manager will be responsible for supporting the programmes establishment phase.
**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:
- Lead the development of a complex, policy-driven programme of work across government and industry to establish a potential market measure to support the energy transition.
- Support implementation excellence, identifying, sharing, and driving best practice across the programme.
- Establish governance and reporting mechanisms to ensure timely and transparent decision making.
- Contribute and lead programme planning, alignment across government, and navigating the programme through ambiguity.
- Support engagement on the programme with key stakeholders including Ministers, Industry, Iwi and government agencies.
- Leverage cross-government teams and private sector, working on similar programmes to strengthen alignment and build on coordinated cross-priorities and actions.

About the Team
The Just Transitions Partnerships team supports the government’s priorities for a Just Transition to a low emissions economy - ensuring the impacts and opportunities associated with the transition are evenly distributed. The Just Transitions Partnerships team is part of the Economic Development and Transitions branch (EDT). EDT focusses on how the government supports sectors, regions and workers through transitions, and on ensuring we have the right investment settings to bring the right kind of savers and investors together to transform the economy to make it more productive, sustainable, and inclusive.
**What we do**:
Our work is focused on supporting people, places and sectors in regions to plan and manage their transitions. Previously we have worked with the Taranaki region on the development of the T2050 Roadmap, driving community engagement in this process. More recently we have worked to support a Just Transitions for Southland to ensure a more resilient economic future.

- **Skills and experience required**:
- Extensive experience in project and programme management.
- Ability to develop and monitor programme and project plans, including governance, stakeholder management and communications, benefits realization plans, risk and opportunities, reporting and assurance, timelines, budget and resource plans, and escalation pathways.
- Experience in facilitating workshops and developing frameworks and models to communicate complex concepts to a range of audiences.
- Proven ability to bring together a diverse set of requirements into a coordinated programme.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management, and ability to remain calm and collaborative under pressure.
- Effective leadership and influencing skills within a collaborative programme environment.
- An effective communicator in all mediums including written reports and verbal updates.
- A critical thinker with the ability to think strategically and analytically and translate ideas and concepts into tangible actions.
- Experience in reporting on progress, risks, opportunities, and issues to senior executives.
- Ability to assimilate new information or areas of work.
- A demonstrated ability to understand and implement change management programmes within complex systems or environments.
- Flexibility to adapt within a dynamic environment.
- Ability to understand and adapt to different delivery models, including more agile and loosely defined work packages.
- A good understanding of the Public Sector environment, central government, local government policy and regulatory processes, including decision-making processes would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of the energy sector beneficial but not required.
- Credit check required.
- Must be a New Zealand Citizen or permanent resident.
