The People Advisory team is a pivotal capability, newly created within our People division, and offers this role an exciting opportunity lead on the design, implementation, and delivery of this service for ASB, which is aligned to one of the key pillars in bringing our People Promise to life: a focus on getting the basics right in delivering simple and easy services to those that rely on our expertise and guidance.

We are now looking for a commercially minded and experienced HR leader to lead our People Advisory team and to partner with Executives in our Corporate Core divisions (Risk, Finance, Business Services). This role leads our Advisory team delivering expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on a wide range of people matters, cyclical activities and priority projects.

**Mo te tūranga** | **About the Role**:
Reporting to the GM People Partnering and collaborating with the People team, you will partner with Executives and Senior Leaders in your portfolio to design and lead strategic people objectives that drive the People strategy and achievement of ASB's strategy across the enterprise. You will lead a corporate portfolio team to operationalize and execute our strategy and people plans, consistent with our agreed enterprise priorities, in addition to leading on people change and provision of general people advice. As a trusted advisor you will coach and advise across the Executive, Senior Leader and People Leadership teams on enterprise insights derived from partnering across the business.

As a key leader in our People Partnering practice, you will play a lead role in the management of the People Partnering Practice, encompassing operational excellence and ways of working ensuring we are set up for success, and enabled to deliver to our purpose. You will also act as a Chapter lead for the Practice, responsible for the consistent standards of how work is done, facilitating the personal and professional development of my chapter members, empowering them to learn and grow.

You will be part of a collaborative and high performing team who focus on workplace wellbeing and support for one another and having fun along the way
- An agile mindset, with experience in agile ways of working
- HR qualification, with a general Business degree preferred
- Extensive experience in HR roles and operating at senior leadership level
- Demonstrated commercial acumen
- Ability to influence at a senior level and drive the people agenda
- Develop reputation as a trusted advisor and partner with EGMs and other key stakeholders
- Ability to balance different perspectives / priorities and create optimal solutions
- Strategic insights and ability to grasp high-level concepts and themes and evolve these into plans that lead team to execute and deliver
- Senior level communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced knowledge and working experience with NZ employment law at a senior level
