Here in Ward 18, our specialty service cares for patients requiring hand, breast and plastic surgery. We also specialise in wound management and are the Regional Burn Centre for the South Island. We are seeking a motivated and energetic ward clerk to join our team. With opportunities to learn and develop your own skills, you can help us build on our reputation for excellent patient care.
Our clerical team provide a key role in the effective function of our ward. The work involves transaction of admissions, discharges, transfers and management of patient records. Working in the reception area you will be the first point of contact for patients, whānau, visitors and various hospital and health provider staff.
This role is a permanent part-time role (32 hours per week). The shifts required are Monday to Friday 4pm to 8pm (flexible) and 4 hours Saturday morning.

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- General clerical and administrative tasks
- Entering information to the patient management system
- Answering phones and greeting tūroro (patients) and their whānau

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to relate to patients, their whānau and Te Whatu Ora staff
- Attention to detail
- Organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Experience using a Patient Management System (desirable)
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Able to pick up and use new systems and technology
