As a Community Governance Advisor you'll have an unrivalled opportunity to be at the forefront of local governance decision making in a fast-growing, diverse and exciting community. You'll have opportunities to work in different governance teams around the city as required as well as help staff around the organisation in following governance processes and using supporting systems.

At times you will work directly with Elected Members, and staff at all levels of the Council by providing specialist advice in democratic processes and professional administrative support. You will be part of a team providing end-to-end support and service through advisory and professional services. You'll be able to see the big picture as there is an element of reactive work - there are many moving parts that need to be put into place so having an eye for detail would be a given. Being timeframe focused will see you use your natural intuition working to tight deadlines whilst also being agile in your approach and being able to think on your feet is a must Experience in process management and improvement is preferred.

To be successful in this this exciting role you will have a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality and be able to think strategically. You will be calm under pressure and be able to provide professional advice on the spot, drawing on your strong communication skills. You will also enjoy reviewing and editing complex documents, so attention to detail is a must, along with a solutions-focused, can-do attitude.

**_ Additional Recruitment Information:_**
- Salary: Will be discussed with the successful applicant_
- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Some outside of normal working hours are required to meet the needs of a Community Board._
- Location: Usually based at the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices (53 Hereford Street) but can be assigned to any office at different times_
