**The opportunity**
Unique adventure awaits, this developer is part of an Asia Pacific property business and been established in Port Morsby for decades. They own and manage several large commercial properties and have $500m worth of new developments in the pipeline. Reporting to the Managing Director this position with manage and lead the building maintenance and construction teams for the region.

Working in PnG will be a remarkable experience and adventure, the country has progressed a lot in the last decade and the capital enjoys shopping malls, cinemas and food from most countries in the world. The expat community is vibrant and social with many enjoying the incredible outdoors lifestyle from hiking, 4W Driving, fishing, and sailing. Our client describes how the local people are friendly, relaxed and offer a strong sense of community, work is busy but outside of work there is a slower pace where lifestyle is prioritised.

**The Job**
In this position you will plan and manage all the building maintenance and capital projects for a portfolio of commercial properties. You will also work with the Managing Director in supporting the construction planning and management of new property developments the business has planned.

Managing a team of around 70 staff a key focus will is the day to day leadership of work, ensuring it is efficiently and effectively managed. You will prepare management reports and have ownership of procurement and financial budgets and help manage key client relationships.

There is real scope fo you to implement new and improved systems and process for the facilities management and train and develop your team’s skills and experience.

**Experience**
- We are seeking an experienced manager or project manager from construction or facilities management
- You will have good knowledge of project planning, financial management and contract management
- You will remain hands on and enjoy being close to the practical work
- The real opportunity will be in mentoring your team to take on more ownership of their work
