The opportunity
The Manufacturing Manager is a key member of the Site Leadership Team with responsibility for the manufacturing plants. Large portfolio manufacturing requires reliability and consistency to deliver daily customer requirements, ATP (Attainment to Plan) and DIFOT (Deliver in full on time) while driving improvements in Quality and Safety. This is a people and results focused role, with the emphasis on safety, quality, engagement & culture, plan delivery, sustainable cost management and waste reduction. The Manufacturing Manager will develop team performance through training, empowerment and accountability to deliver compliance to safety, quality, plan attainment and cost standards and contribute to the delivery of the GFNZ strategic plan.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Continuous improvement focusing on product and process
- Demonstrate a commitment to fostering team engagement, strategic succession planning, and talent development within the organization.
- Support development of the baking Apprentices
- Manage and reduce waste; give away, stock loss & unaccounted product
- Manage and improve usage of renewable resources such as water, electricity and landfill.
- Monitor trends in plant throughput and waste, determine the causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure leadership behaviours are consistent with the vision, goal and priorities of Goodman Fielder
- Maintain a focus on talent management, succession planning and multi skilling
- Ensure development plans are in place, capability needs are assessed, and development initiatives are planned and executed against specific business needs
- Ensure the “team values” are always followed within the Operations Management team
- Embrace methodologies to sustain behaviours and processes that support a safety culture of zero incidents
- Drive improvement projects to remove critical risks and ensure continual improvement in HSE
- Demonstrate commitment to health and safety through participation in formal and informal discussions, workplace visits and hazard inspections, etc.

About you
- Qualified Baker with strong Baking experience

- Bachelor of Food Science desirable
