We are looking for an exceptional fluid components team lead with a practical, can-do attitude to join our in-space propulsion team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and management of fluid components such as valves (solenoid, pressure relief and fill/drain valves) as well as complex products such as fluid ground support equipment (FGSE) for our range of propulsion systems for satellites.

You will see your work go from initial design, all the way to space.

**Responsibilities**
- Design and development of both active and passive fluid components for Dawn’s satellite propulsion systems
- Product management and improvement of existing fluid component designs
- Support manufacturing of fluid components
- Management of a team of 2-5 engineers
- Reporting to department management

**Requirements**:

- A degree in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical engineering
- 5+ years experience with high pressure systems and active component design and testing such as solenoid valves
- Computer-aided design, preferably Solidworks
- Experience in product management
- Experience in component manufacturing
- Experience in team management
- Proven oral and written communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and engineering professionals
- The ability to take a flexible approach and to adapt to change quickly and positively
- Effectively and appropriately balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule

**Desired experience**
- Familiarity with CFD/fluid simulation
- Practical testing experience of rocket engines
- Knowledge of the space environment
- Familiarity with space qualification standards such as ECSS
