**About The Role**:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to be based in our Auckland office. Reporting to the New Product Innovation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the development and success of our product portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, drive product development, and ensure the successful launch and adoption of our products in the market.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Collaborating with the Product Development team to conceptualise and design new products
- Produce sound 3D CAD models (using SolidWorks and Teamcenter) with supporting calculations and specifications
- Building prototypes and conceptual models for evaluation and testing.
- Generating dimensional and tolerance analyses of new and existing designs and creating detailed part and assembly drawings.
- Evaluating design and manufacturing solutions with respect to sustainability and environmental factors
- Collaborating with marketing, supply chain, sales, manufacturing, engineering (across ASSA ABLOY sites), and other relevant parties to ensure that projects proceed on schedule
- Research and evaluate opposition products, markets and participate in VOC as required
- Maintaining comprehensive records of design and development activities in accordance with the Product Development team procedures.

**About you**:

- Minimum of 3+ years of proven work experience in Product development, from concept to manufacturing
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, or related field
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills, results-driven approach to product development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as proficient numerical and statistical analysis abilities
- Strong Project management skills to lead projects, facilitate project meetings, and communicate project updates business wide
