We now have an opportunity for an experienced design engineer to join our Cooking Ventilation team in Auckland . In this team you will work on a variety of projects that are designed inhouse or with our external partners offshore . You should enjoy working as an integral member of multidisciplinary engineering project s . All o ur product development engineers work from early-stage product concept generation , through detailed design to implementation a nd serial production a pplying Learning First Product Development methodology .

What we're looking for...

As part of a small team with diverse complimentary skills, you'll be r esponsible for mechanical product design of kitchen ventilation products. You will drive collaborative work with all branches of the business an d overseas partners to achieve objectives (e.g.electronic s , software, procurement and production engineering teams) . Y ou will be hands-on and can demonstrate ability in problem solving, evaluation and practical test setups, capturing data and performing your own analysis, as well as modelling and simulation of subsystem behaviours to drive key decisions around component design or selection. E xperience in with manufacturing environments , HVAC, Blowers/fans would be useful but not essential. You thrive in a n environment where you can own the results of your hard work and be involved in managing your contribution through the entire Product Development process.

You'll need a degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Engineering Science with at least 5 years' experience in a Product Development or Product Design environment. A background in complex appliance, automotive or aeronautical industries is desired but not essential.
