**THE POSITION**
This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Lower North Island. The Regional Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and implementing, with the Business Segment and National Sales Manager, plans to achieve sales, market share, and other goals within approved budgets for the agreed territory.
**Tasks & Responsibilities**:
- Achieve or exceed specified annual sales targets within the allocated expense budget.
- Analyse sales potential of each customer and allocate resources accordingly. Plan, direct, and control activities to ensure achievement of established objectives. Make recommendations for and implement territory strategies in agreement with the line manager.
- Optimise the use of financial resources while maintaining expenses within approved limits.
- Maintain and develop relationships with veterinarians and vet clinic staff through regular planned calls on vet businesses, as agreed with the line manager.
- Communicate with Sales, Marketing and Technical colleagues as appropriate to achieve annual territory objectives.
- Monitor stock holding and promotional information for use in territory. Ensure key SKUs are on hand for seasonal and promotional needs. Work with Distribution, Marketing and Sales Management to ensure this aligns with requirements to achieve business objectives.
- Provide and maintain systems of work and working environments that are safe and without risks to health.
- Provide the information, instruction, training, and supervision necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees.
- Undertake duties in accordance with the Boehringer Ingelheim policies and procedures.
- Report non-conformance in accordance with the requirements of Boehringer Ingelheim quality systems.
**Requirements and Desirable Qualification, Skills, and Experience**:
- A minimum of 5 years of sales management experience/ key account management role
- Experience in Animal Health or the agricultural industry
- Tertiary qualifications in either the Agricultural, Science or Business-related fields are desirable
- Strong understanding of the farming calendar and New Zealand farming systems
- Ability to manage multiple work streams effectively
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
