Your accountabilities range from leading, establishing and maintaining Emergency Management programmes to facilitating emergency response exercises and training programmes. You will offer expert advice and support during and after a health emergency situation. This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday and based at Middlemore Hospital.
As the Emergency Response Coordinator, it is critical that you are resilient, a meticulous planner, able to think on your feet and remain calm in a crisis. Being naturally confident communicating both verbally and written, you will have the ability to relate well to people at all levels of the organisation as well as dealing with external stakeholders.

**Some key accountabilities are**:

- Lead, establish and maintain the DHB wide Emergency Management programmes incorporating strategies, systems, operational plans and processes for Counties Manukau DHB and comply with legislative requirements, the Operational Policy Framework (OPF) and Crown funding agreements
- Ensure key external stakeholders are provided with timely accurate information at all times including during a DHB wide emergency incident response through an efficient communication distribution system.
- Facilitate exercises in CMDHB internally and incorporate DHB wide requirements in line with the HEP
- Facilitate an emergency response training programme for CMDHBRespond to health emergency situations by providing emergency planning/ leadership advice to the CIMs team and DHB Executive

**To be successful in this role you will need**:

- Background in emergency response and ideally CIMS trained. Experience in health or other government service management is required
- Mature approach to problem solving
- Evidence of contemporary leadership role.
- Excellent communicator, highly articulate and excellent listening skills
- Demonstrated use of initiative, with confident skills in negotiation and consultation
- Ability to work well in a team

Being a Registered Health Professional with extensive knowledge of emergency response within the health and public health systems is preferred however relevant knowledge and experience in other related fields will be considered.
