**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
As the Competency and Proficiency Assessor you will develop, implement and manage a competency audit/assessment program of Zespri personnel to ensure compliance with the Zespri system. You will manage the review and continuous improvement of the QA training requirements and work proactively to facilitate the identification and implementation of improvements in training material, processes and systems arising from the assessment of the regulatory and certification quality programs.

This role is based in the Bay of Plenty however travel to regional pack houses in South Auckland, Motueka, Nelson, Northland, Whanganui and Gisborne may also be required. Travel off-shore for Zespri Global Competency Assessments will also be required as needed.
- Develop an annual plan for management approval to assess and monitor competency of Zespri personnel.
- Develop a Global Consistency assessment process, working with off shore staff, and in market to implement the global process.
- Complete written reports for all audits, compiling summary reports as required.
- Manage the follow up of findings system by obtaining feedback on progress from managers and follow up all corrective actions.
- Implement and manage a continuous improvement process to enhance the review of training programs.
- Work with Planning and Training Co-ordinator, highlighting trends during Competency and Proficiency Assessments, identifying training needs and opportunities for improvements.
- Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes.

You will have a background in Quality Assurance and meet the following selection criteria:

- Be a Qualified Lead Auditor or Similar (Quality Assessor / Trainer).
- 3+ years quality systems auditing experience.
- Experience in quality system management and audit procedures.
- In depth understanding of MPI Certification Standard and other fresh produce export requirements (e.g. Customs SES, GlobalG.A.P., Food Safety).
- Experience in food or fresh fruit industry (desirable).
