We are looking for a highly driven, effective leader to develop and deliver a communications strategy that will support the growth and profile of our organisation in an exciting and interesting time in primary healthcare.

As a leadership role, reporting to the CEO, it requires someone with strong experience in stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. You will be able to demonstrate excellent technical skills, experience in building organisational brand awareness, and ability to effectively and efficiently deliver campaigns across a range of channels.

**About Mahitahi Hauora**

Mahitahi Hauora is a primary health entity underpinned by Ti Tiriti o Waitangi, our Kaupapa includes ensuring whanau and communities are able to achieve self-determined wellbeing, access to the services they determine they need, and to live a long and healthy life. We work collaboratively with community, primary healthcare providers and key partners to support general practices, Māori health providers and social sector agencies in achieving better health outcomes for our Tai Tokerau population.

**The Position**

We are looking for a Communications Manager who is experienced in:

- Successfully developing and delivering communications strategies
- Leading organisational brand awareness
- Issue and risk monitoring and management
- Managing and developing media platforms and responses
- Stakeholder engagement

As a successful Communications Manager, you will make a significant contribution to the leadership team and strategic direction. While working as a generalist in this Communications role, you will also have an opportunity to be creative and innovative in your work.

To be considered for this position you must have:

- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a communications role within a complex environment
- Senior level or leadership experience within a communications role
- A relevant tertiary degree level qualification in communications, journalism, media studies or marketing
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, and writing skills across a range of channels including digital
- Excellent skills in using a range of social media platforms, and other technology
- Great organisational skills and an ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven interpersonal skills in developing constructive stakeholder relationships
- An understanding of the primary healthcare sector would be an advantage

**You must have a current NZ work visa and the legal right to work in NZ.
