An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated medical laboratory scientist to lead and manage our Microbiology and Molecular Biology departments during an exciting period of growth and change at Waikato Hospital Laboratory

**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**

The Laboratory service produces over 10 million test results per year and has laboratories based at each of the five hospital sites. This position is based at the main laboratory in Hamilton, which provides a wide range of testing, including specialist testing for the Midland region.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

- Good technical knowledge and understanding of Microbiology and/or Molecula

Biology services
- An engaging and inspiring leadership style and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage people, systems, budget and resources to ensure service

delivery of a high standard
- A progressive thinker and willing to take on new challenges
- Knowledge and understanding of quality processes and accreditation standard.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in leading others. A positive and optimistic attitude is essential to this important leadership role.
