Group Manager Operations

We have an exciting opportunity following a restructure for a proactive and innovative Group Manager to join our Executive Leadership Team.
The Group Manager Operations will be responsible for leading operations and strategy across a diverse and professionally challenging group, which includes responsibility for the efficient and effective management of the Council’s infrastructure services (roading, water supply, storm water disposal, sustainability and waste, wastewater disposal,) as well as the provision of technical policy support, advice, and customer services in relation to land use and building consents, so the growth aspirations of council and the community can be satisfied. This multi disciplined group also has responsibility for organisation wide customer services and city-wide emergency management.
This role represents an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate and further develop your strong leadership capability by implementing good practice outcomes through a customer focussed approach to delivery of a broad range of services.
Key to your success will be your experience leading diverse work streams. You will be financially savvy, managing significant budgets with a ‘no surprises’ approach to capital and operational expenditure. A superb communicator, you will be skilled in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholder groups and individuals on a broad range of issues. You will need to demonstrate significant experience leading and aligning teams committed to superior service delivery outcomes consistent with the Upper Hutt City Council vision, plans and ideals.
Your contribution as a key member of the Executive Leadership will be critical to ‘whole organisation’ approaches to decision making, strategy development and implementation, as it applies to long term planning and resulting capital projects and operational programmes.
