We have an exciting opportunity following a restructure for a proactive and innovative Group Manager to join our Executive Leadership Team.
The Group Manager Engagement, Strategy and Planning Services will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Group which will deliver an integrated, customer centric service both internally and externally.
**External**: strategic direction setting with community and elected member inputs, developing and maintaining partnerships, particularly with Māori, and broad community engagement.
**Internal**: strategy development, policies and bylaws, corporate policy, and reporting; corporate communications and website administration; and democratic/governance services.
This position will be responsible for developing organisation wide strategies and integrated and deliverable policy. This position, along with the Executive Leadership team (ELT) and Leadership team (LT) will provide the glue to ensure that our vision is internally binding and externally embraced through our marketing and visitor attraction success.
In addition, the Group Manager Engagement, Strategy and Planning Services develops and promotes a solid relationship with the public and stakeholders, Councillors, government departments and other Councils to actively support and uphold the Upper Hutt City Council plan and vision.
The role is a key part of the Executive Leadership Team and is expected to play an active part in contributing to the leadership of the Council.
We require a strategic and influential leader who applies business acumen and decisiveness to deliver against key outcomes and who can develop organisation wide strategies into integrated and deliverable policy. A superb communicator, you will be skilled in engaging with diverse stakeholder groups and demonstrate significant experience leading teams committed to operational excellence. This role provides advice to Councillors and officers to enable effective decision making and contributes to the achievement of the Council’s strategic and operational objectives.
