**Position Overview**: As the HR & Safety Manager at Homestead Construction, you will play a multifaceted role that significantly contributes to shaping the company's future. Your responsibilities will encompass not only human resources but also the vital domain of safety. You will be at the forefront of our HR department, ensuring that their employees are empowered, engaged, and aligned with the company's values and goals. Simultaneously, you will be responsible for upholding and enhancing their strong commitment to health and safety throughout their organization.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Human Resources**:
Develop, implement, and execute HR strategies that support the company's growth
Manage employee relations, performance management, and development initiatives.
Oversee HR policies, procedures, and ensure strict compliance with employment laws.
Collaborate with department heads to align HR initiatives with our business objectives.
Promote a positive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Drive employee engagement and well-being programs to ensure a motivated and satisfied workforce.
Handle conflict resolution and provide expert guidance on HR-related matters.
Lead various HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes and enhancing employee experiences.

**Safety**:
Oversee and ensure the highest standards of health and safety within the workplaces.
Develop and lead Health & Safety initiatives that guarantee compliance and create a culture of safety.
Coordinate safety training programs and carry out regular safety audits.
Respond effectively to incidents and maintain all safety equipment and protocols.
Be responsible for maintaining all safety-related documentation, records, and reporting.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the construction industry.
A comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations in New Zealand.
The ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively.
A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to HR and safety management.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Possession of HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, HRBP) is a significant advantage.
