**Role**: Programme Manager
**Reports to**: Manager Programme Delivery - EPMO
**Location**: New Zealand
**Job type**: Fixed Term 12-months
We have an incredible opportunity for an accomplished Programme Manager to join our PMO function.
Mō mātou | About us
Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children has a commitment to putting tamariki and rangatahi at the heart of what we do. In our work, we aim to demonstrate these values:
- We put Tamariki first
- We believe Aroha is vital
- We respect the Mana of people
- We are Tika and Pono
- We value Whakapapa
- We recognise that Oranga is a journey
We are committed to ensuring that New Zealand is the best place in the world to be a child. We are also committed to ensuring Oranga Tamariki partners with hapū, iwi and Māori organisations to find appropriate solutions for tamariki in need.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join our EPMO to help us deliver a suite of changes that facilitate moving from a limited focus on tamariki voice towards a broader focus that includes voices of tamariki and their whānau, and prioritises the voices and perspectives of Pacific, Māori, tangata whaikaha/disability and takatāpui/rainbow.
The key focus for this role is to establish systems and processes that enable us to move from using ad-hoc approaches to seek and respond to voices of tamariki and their whānau towards intentional and coordinated approaches to hardwire the voice of lived experience into decision-making in ways that builds accountability across business units such as governance, policy, practice, strategy and service delivery. The role includes oversight of two in-flight projects and development and leadership of a third.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to seeing the voices and experiences of tamariki and whānau prioritised in the development and delivery of services in Aotearoa, understands New Zealand's machinery of government, and enjoys delivering business change.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference for tamariki and whānau. If you demonstrate the following skills/experience, we encourage you to apply:
- Previous experience delivering large programmes and successfully implementing change.
- Exemplary engagement and communication skills, from building networks to ongoing management of relationships. Being able to manage communication across multiple business units and front-line services will be an advantage.
- Proven Programme Management expertise and knowledge through all project lifecycle stages (programme and project certifications like MSP or PRINCE2 would be beneficial).
- Able to manage dependencies between projects with the programme and across other projects and programmes within the organisation.
- Proven leadership experience and comfortable reporting to and working with Senior Leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to see the "big picture" and navigate the strategic landscape.
Nōu te rourou | What's in it for you
If you are interested in any of our vacancies, please ensure that you make yourself familiar with our code of conduct as it sets out our expectations for our kaimahi and requires you to present at work free from the influences of both drugs and alcohol.
