Ngā mahi - What you'll do
The Senior Advisor - Board role is focused on providing professional support to Kāinga Ora's Board and sub committees. There are two Senior Advisor roles which share the responsibilities for ensuring the provision of professional level material to the Board and sub-committees to enable efficient and effective decision making at the governance level. The Senior Advisors will work with senior leaders across the business to ensure that the requirements of the Board are well understood and responded to in a professional and timely manner.
The Senior Advisors will provide specialist advice and support to senior leaders and their teams who are accountable for reporting to the Board and sub committees. The role of the subcommittee is expanding as with delegations from the Board to free up Board time for strategy and overall accountability for the organisation's performance and outcomes.
The Senior Advisors are the custodians of the processes and documentation to support the accurate management responses and activities for the Board and its sub committees. They are responsible for ensuring processes and documentation are shaped and maintained to facilitate effective information flow and to ensure that decision summaries are visible to the business. This role requires a good understanding of business initiatives and strategic direction of the organisation.
The Senior Advisors will engage effectively across the organisation with senior leaders to ensure that there are no surprises for the Board.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you'll need
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in high-level, administrative/advisory support.
- Understanding of business and governance issues.
- Experience with and understanding of corporate governance issues desired.
- Experience supporting multiple leadership groups is desirable.
- Sound business communication skills.
- Ability to create and sustain strong working relationships; excellent interpersonal skills including ability to effectively partner with high-level internal and external influencers and to collaborate with staff at all levels.
- Ability to assess and challenge information.
- Sound judgement in decision making and exceptional boundaries relating to confidential information.

- Working knowledge of the Public Records Act and Crown Entities Act as they pertain to information and records management.
- Have a process/continuous improvement philosophy.
