Are you looking to work in a modern, world-renowned tertiary hospital that provides a comprehensive orientation and ongoing education in a supportive team based environment?

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse with strong leadership and advanced nursing skills and a strong interest in General Surgery for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Acute Surgical Unit. Your primary focus will be to provide specialist nursing care and/or case management when required to the Acute Surgical patient population.

You will deliver professional and clinical leadership, patient care co-ordination, education and clinical teaching to patients and staff. The role covers primary, secondary and tertiary care of complex patients.

You will need to work autonomously as well as be part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective/evidenced based nursing practice.

**This is a fulltime position working 40 hrs/week, Monday to Sunday, based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland**

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

The successful applicant will have extensive general surgical nursing experience and be practicing at a senior level preferably with a postgraduate certificate or diploma in speciality nursing practice.

It is essential that you meet the following criteria:

- Have at least 3-5 years post graduate experience preferably in General Surgical/Trauma
- Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and service members
- Maintain safe cultural practice and develop your cultural knowledge
- Have excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills in order to relate to and work with staff and patients at all levels.
- Have NZ nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
