We are seeking a qualified General Surgeon to work within our Colorectal Service in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Colorectal Unit comprises five full-time equivalent Surgeons, one Fellow, one SET Trainee, two House Officers and three Clinical Nurse Specialists. It provides the full range of secondary and tertiary colorectal surgical services, within state of the art facilities at Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Surgical Unit. Surgical outpatient clinic facilities are also located at the Greenlane Clinical Centre. Auckland City Hospital is a major tertiary hospital with a teaching focus in partnership with the University of Auckland.

The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences was established in 1968 as The University of Auckland School of Medicine. Since then the Faculty has grown and developed into a large and diverse Faculty with schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, Population Health, Medical Sciences and Medicine. Our researchers are recognised internationally for their contribution to scientific knowledge and their work in developing modern medicine. We are working at the cutting edge of basic research, at the commercial biotechnology interface, in the clinical care setting and in the community.

This will be a full-time Clinical position in General and Colorectal Surgery. There may be involvement in the Acute Surgical Unit and after hour on-call commitments. In addition, it is desirable for the applicant to have the suitable academic qualifications for appointment to an associated position as Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor with the University of Auckland.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
Ideally, the applicant will have general surgical training equivalent to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) level, with post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery and a post-graduate academic degree. The exact contribution of the different components of the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
