**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Forensic Prison Team is a multidisciplinary mental health team located within the Forensic Community Service in Central Hamilton. The team provides mental health services to prisoners via in-reach, including assessments and treatment. The psychologist has his/her office based at in central Hamilton. S/he attends the MDT meetings and travels to the prisons (Springhill, Waikeria and Tongariro) to see clients or if needed, use AVL. The position involves assessing and treating inmates who have been identified by the MDT. The psychologist will be part of a team of 6 psychologists working in different areas of the forensic service. Individual supervision and consultations are provided by senior psychologists.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (or recognised equivalent)
- Registration with the NZ Psychology Board as a Registered Psychologist with a Clinical Scope of Practice
- Current Practising Certificate
- Full NZ Drivers License

While not essential, previous experience working with forensic, correctional or other high risk-high needs clients would be an advantage
