**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Population Health Gain provides trusted pragmatic advice to health system decision makers with an evidence based, intelligence driven and whole of system approach to improve population level outcomes.

In this role, your primary purpose will be to provide support to the Population Health Priorities team, the wider Population Health Gain business unit and the Service Improvement and Innovation directorate to carry out population health functions that aim to enhance population wellbeing and health outcomes equitably.

**Mōu | About you**

You will have a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and maximising Māori health gain, and a passion for positively contributing to the determinants of health and achieving equity in key population health priorities - this will be essential to your success in this role.

You will be someone with experience in an advisory role, ideally within the health system, and with a background or interest in equity. You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be a confident networker who can build relationships easily to support your project work.

- A relevant undergraduate and post-graduate qualification.
- An approachable collegial attitude and desire to work with others to achieve results and share knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team.
- Some experience in the health system and in an advisory role.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the specific relationship under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Te Whatu Ora's role in improving outcomes for iwi and Māori communities.
- Initiative and an ability to think ahead, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
