**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

Health Promotion is most effective when working at the system, environment and policy level alongside communities. Health promotion is interested in providing support to communities that enables them to take action on issues and topics that directly impact on them.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join the Health Promotion Directorate as an** Advisor - Whai Ora. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The primary purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting the supporting the development and delivery of projects within the Health Promotion directorate by providing advice and coordination. The primary organizational impact of the position is to successfully implement programmes of delivery to achieve the Health Promotion, National Public Health Service Business Plan.

**Mōu | About you**

You are someone with excellent relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills. You have developing analytical skills and are able to pull together clear ideas and conclusions from technical data, and write and talk about the issues with a range of audiences. You have a willingness to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or a minimum of two years' appropriate equivalent experience
- Strong experience, knowledge and skills in relation to working with Māori and Pasifika people/groups/communities
- Some experience in contract management, including a proven ability to work with a range of suppliers
- Experience in project management and administration skills, effectively coordinating multiple activities and monitor outcome achievement
- Experience or an interest in mental health preferred
