**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Health Promotion team as** Advisor - Alcohol**
The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of strategic projects within the Mauri Ora group in Health Promotion. Our team leads the promotion of Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all through the **prevention of alcohol-related harm**. We work to achieve equity in health outcomes associated with alcohol use, especially for Māori.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or two years appropriate equivalent experience
- Experience in project management and administration skills, effectively coordinating multiple activities and monitor outcome achievement
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and an ability to think ahead, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving accuracy and confidentiality
- Knowledge of the machinery of government, and policy development, is preferred
- Knowledge of social marketing, design, and digital tools is beneficial but not required
