Missional University is a 100% online university whose purpose is to equip Christian non-clergy persons to join the mission of God in the world. With more than 120 faculty and staff distributed across the globe, the educational programs empower the people of God to become world changers related to sixteen vital causes.

The Visual Communications Design Manager is responsible for the visual content creation and design as well as general marketing and public relations support for Missional University. The position requires a passion for the mission of Missional University, a self-starter, strong organizational and communication skills, timeliness, attention to detail, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of digital graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent FOSS software.

Since Missional University is dedicated to training grassroots missional leaders in the evangelical tradition, administrative staff and faculty members must commit to both our faith and ethos statements. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

*Provides leadership in the conceptualization and development of visual content and designs communication that delivers high quality consistent messaging with Missional University brand identity.

*Extremely detail-oriented with impeccable design abilities and a distinct eye for color, pattern, typography, and conveying best design principles.

*Ability to take projects from conception through production to final output of digital projects both personally and leading a team

*Understand end-user needs, perspectives and translate into project output that achieves organizational goals and objectives.

*Gather insights and recommend direction based on iterative feedback from stakeholders.

*Ensures all visual brand, social media, and terminology standards are executed properly.

*Stays aware of design trends and changes in the global marketplace as it relates to higher education.

*Develops and maintains a library of current visual materials including brand graphic elements and photos.

*Has a good attitude and able to take feedback positively and productively.

*Organizes workload for efficient time management and meets multiple schedule deadlines on time.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
*Bachelor’s degree (minimum), Master's degree (preferred) in graphic design, advertising, marketing, or related field of study area from a recognized university (preferably a Christian university)

*Minimum of 7+ years of progressive responsibility in graphic design (required), digital and freehand drawing/sketching (preferred)

*Proven understanding of the entire graphic design process, from ideation through delivery

*Ability to think conceptually to articulate and translate creative concepts into high-quality graphic and infographic content

*Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent FOSS software); advanced knowledge of color grading practices

*Experience with Adobe InDesign is both expected and appreciated

*Ability to work in a collaborative and hands-on manner with copywriters, videographers, and other stakeholders

*Commitment to excellence and ability to receive and incorporate constructive feedback, while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects at once within deadline constraints

*Understanding of existing and emerging social media and digital engagement platforms and their audiences

*A proactive, motivated self-starter, and resourceful problem solver with a creative drive to explore brand new approaches to graphic storytelling

*Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and a great sense of humor are a must

*Kind, empathetic, enthusiastic, positive, and intellectually curious

*Ability to relate interculturally to ethnically diverse backgrounds globally

*A vibrant Christian testimony

*Practical missions experience in his/her own country of origin or beyond
