Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Advisor (Design) role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creative expertise and make a significant impact within the Ministry. As the go-to person for design, document formatting, and online publishing solutions, you'll be a key player in shaping the Ministry's visual identity.
You'll have the chance to provide expert graphic design services across a diverse range of media, including publications, posters, presentations, and online content. Collaborating closely with the Channels team, you'll be part of a dynamic group that consistently delivers visually stunning and engaging materials.
In this role, you'll not only be a design guru but also a relationship builder, ensuring top-notch customer service for internal clients. By offering quality advice and support, you'll be contributing to the success of various work programs, guided by Senior Advisors and/or Principal Advisors.
The role's scope extends beyond traditional design as you'll be involved in crafting captivating infographics and data visualizations for online channels. Your talent and creativity will play a pivotal role in conveying complex information in an easily understandable and visually appealing manner.
You'll take the lead in managing the Ministry's Digital Asset Management (DAM) program, UView, ensuring the organisation's valuable images are well-organized, up-to-date, and purposeful.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Graphic design experience and expertise in using the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Brand and/or visual identity management experience.
- Excellent organisational skills, including experience in managing schedules and Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent customer focus and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and with conflicting priorities.
- Ability to proofread and accurately check text proofs.
- Project management experience.
