ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you ready to take the spotlight and manage a thriving Conference Centre that leaves a lasting impression on our members and customers? We're looking for a talented and dynamic individual to join our Member Engagement Team as our Conference Centre Manager.
As the mastermind behind our Auckland Conference Centre, you'll be responsible for orchestrating its successful operation, managing budgets, and ensuring top-notch service standards are met. With your creative flair and marketing prowess, you'll drive visibility and profitability, making our Conference Centre the talk of the town
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Efficiently manage all Conference Centre functions and service standards
- Liaise with property and building managers to resolve any operational issues
- Provide regular reports to management, keeping them in the loop
- Coordinate documentation, maintain accurate records, and champion process improvement
- Ensure robust risk management, health and safety protocols, and emergency plans
- Take charge of financial management, from budgets to forecasting revenue
- Excel in general administrative duties and tech-savviness
- Drive marketing and promotion efforts to maximize visibility and profitability
- Manage audio-visual capabilities and ensure top-notch equipment is always ready
ABOUT YOU
As the welcoming face of our Conference Centre and a natural problem solver, you will work independently and in a team, managing diverse stakeholders. Other skills and experiences you will bring:
- 3-5 years of event or service management experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of health and safety, food service compliance, and liquor licensing
- Current Duty Managers certificate
- Financial management experience, including budgets and forecasting
- Proven track record in marketing and promoting events or venues
- Experience managing customer-facing teams and proven negotiation skills for contracts and services
- Passion for maintaining up-to-date audio-visual capabilities
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and a passion for exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Office 365.
