We have an exciting opportunity for an **Event and Operations Manager** (Conferences and Events) to join our Event Services Team at the University of Auckland. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring our conferencing and events portfolio run smoothly and is responsible for managing a team who deliver events and conferences on campus and across New Zealand to a consistently high standard, enhancing the profile of our customers and the reputation of the university.
Reporting to the Event Services Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated, innovative, and proactive Event and Conference Planners, ensuring they understand deliverables and are empowered to succeed. Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously will be instrumental in delivering results.
This role is expected to help drive a culture of continuous improvement and to support business effectiveness by contributing to projects or initiatives that align with Event Services strategy.

**About you | He kōrero mōu**
You will be able to oversee multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining your sense of humour and professional approach.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about team development, a confident and resilient leader, who takes a proactive approach and thrives in a busy environment. An understanding of tikanga and kawa for events would be advantageous.
**Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake**
- Proven track record at developing and influencing strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Digitally capable including virtual and hybrid conference delivery
- Strong Event Management software (Events Air preferred) / technical skills (relevant to role)
- Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Leadership skills with strong coaching and mentoring capability
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks, and Health and Safety event best practice
