A Courts Registry Officer is critical to the successful daily operation of the district court and makes a huge positive difference in the lives of whanau in our communities.

This position sits within our Disputes team, where we are involved with over half of the country's disputes. The main part of this Court Registry Officer role is to ensure court participants matters progress in a timely manner through the court process by effective Case Management activities. You may also be required to be involved in facilitating the smooth delivery of court hearings through Court Taking, which includes announcing the judges entry into court (in English and Te Reo Māori), calling cases and general administration of the court.

**He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience**

To be successful in the role in this role you will have experience in customer service, both in front line and written capacities. With these strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to act with tact and discretion. We are searching for someone who is looking to have time and training invested into them so that they may continue to pursue careers further within the Ministry of Justice.

The ability to speak a second language may also be of advantage.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Be highly organised
- Have strong standard of written and oral communication
- Have solid computer skills
- Have an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori
